The prevailing wind direction on the Isle of Man is West/South West resulting in the west of the island “generally” getting the worst of the sea state. Where a more general outlook of slight if given this can often result in what would be seen much more as a moderate sea on the west of the island. It seems that over the last few years wind speeds around the Isle of Man have increased and even during the summer period low pressure after low pressure rolls in resulting in long spells of force 4 winds.

Due to its position in the middle of the Irish Sea the Isle of Man has some of the most changable weather of anywhere in the UK. Not only can conditions change drastically in a matter of hours but it’s not unkown for places only a couple of miles apart to have totally different weather (As the great Peel – St Johns snow divide of several years back proves). Instead of relying on one source of weather we’re going to group as much information as possible onto one page giving as complete a profile of the current weather on the Isle of Man and of the Isle of Man weather forecast as possible.
